This award recognizes businesses or entities with a trajectory that reflects their good relationship with design and communication. The ADG-FAD Board decided to award the Laus Enterprises and Entities Award 2017 to Camper, which has been in the footwear market for more than 40 years and was committed right from the start to a shared cultural imagery as a ground-breaking form of communication through painstaking design, image, strategy or scenario. Its communication has without a doubt made of this family company one of the most visible and highly respected Spanish brands internationally.

Grand Laus and Young Talent

The projects recognized with a Gold Laus in the different categories (Graphic Design, Digital Design, Advertising, Audiovisuals) compete for a Grand Laus and, in the Student category, for a Young Talent. The Grand Lausof this year’s ADGLausedition cannot be described with better words than those used by Albert MartínezLópez-Amor for theADGLaus 17 book: “An indispensable short for our times, containing the excesses of opera buffa, the fantasticality of magic realism, the humour of the photographs taken by Martin Parr andTxemaSalvans, the fatalism of Greek tragicomedies, the pace of a Scorsese film and many other influences that we cannot explain because we have so much theatre yet to see…”

Young Talent:

Jury: Olga Llopis, SòniaDíaz, María Martí Vigil (winner of the Young Talent 2016), Irene Serra, Carlos Rodrigo, Albert Folch, Adrià Gómez

Data analysis, maximizing the value of computer graphics and a great strategic decision are the key pillars of the project that has won the Young Talent 2017, which brings to light the great format of the publication and the journalistic basis of the design. In times of post-truth and overdoses of speculation, the meticulous restraint of the design at the service of communication is much appreciated.

Project description:

TheLausAporta-FundaciónBanco Sabadell Award winner was chosen for the exquisite art direction at the service of many women’s empowerment. Here are the words of the Laus 2017 Book on this work: “The pages of this catalogue are filled with serenity, seduction, sophistication. With the flavour of close-knit comfort. Filled, ultimately, with an air of shelter and freedom like the islands where pirates take refuge.”

TheLausAporta-FundaciónBanco Sabadell Award for Students goes to a publishing project by an IDEP student. The jury considered that giving visibility and a voice to a district forgotten by fashionable Barcelona through graphic design deserved this recognition. The design follows the maxim that less is more in favour of a brilliant conceptualization and maturity.
