The new Gratacós Award was launched this year and went to the Best-Designer Gold winner, Enric Martín, of ESDI. The prize consists of an aid purse of 600 euros in fabrics and is intended for providing the winner with the necessary resources to enable them to create the collection to be presented on the MODAFAD catwalk of the winter edition of the 080 Barcelona Fashion, which is due to be staged in January 2016.
This is the FAD’s Image and Fashion Association, an international launchpad for emerging designers. Its objective is to showcase young talent in experimental, interdisciplinary and cutting-edge fashion from the city and from outside it. MODAFAD was created in 1991 and ever since it regularly organises the catwalk shows for young MODAFAD emerging talent. This edition was the 39th of a competition that has uncovered an important part of the most established designers in our country’s current fashion scene.
